Wayanad

Wayanad is a district in the state of Kerala in India. It is settled on the Western Ghats and known to be the minimum populated district in Kerala. Wayanad is mostly covered with forests and the Wayanad forests have been settled for more than 3,000 years which has been found in archeological researches. There are lots of evidences have been found of New Stone Age civilization on the hills of Wayanad district. There are two caves of Ampukuthimala, which are also visited by a number of tourists and archeological researchers and these caves have pictures on their walls and pictorial writings, which are a strong evidence of the civilization era. Wayanad is a place set amidst dense forest, twisted jungles and beautiful valleys and set on the southern slope of the Deccan plateau and the most beautiful part of it the chief with high edges scattered all over that gives an amazing background to the place.
