Vaishno Devi

Vaishno Devi Temple is a divine pilgrimage destination for the Hindus located in the folds of the three-peaked mountain of Trikuta. The cave temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti. The temple of Mata Vaishno Devi witnesses hordes of pilgrims, as millions of devotees, come here from around the world to have Darshan of the holy Goddess. The pilgrimage commences at Katra at 5200 ft high and devotees have to cover 13 km of terrain on foot to reach the Darbar. The Darshan and Aarti at the holy place are done very gracefully. The Aarti in the holy cave is performed twice a day once in the morning before sunrise and in the evening after sunset. There is a popular slogan which is hailed around ‘Maan Aap Bulandi’which refers to the call from the divine mother. So, the one who visits the place gets his desires fulfilled by the consent of Mata Rani. The exquisite surroundings and the enchanting journey make the trip outstanding for everyone.

How to Reach

Vaishno Devi Temple is easy to reach; it is well connected to all the modes of transportation. The nearest airport is the Jammu i.e. 48 Km from Katra, flights are available from major cities and town. The nearest railway station is Jammu that is well connected to the city. And Jammu terminus provides great bus services, the Buses depart for Katra in every 10 minutes from the main bus stand at Jammu between 5.30 am to 8.30 pm. Private taxis are also available.
