Somnath Temple

Somnath Temple is one the greatest ancient and sacred temples located in Prabhas Kshetra, Gujarat. It is one of the main 12 Shiva temples in India enshrining the Jyotorlingas. The Somnath Temple is known as the eternal shrine whose glory and fame are legendary. The temple was also known for the treasure trove of wealth and goodies that were looted away. The present temple is built in the Chalukya style of temple architecture and replicate the skill of the Sompura Salats one of Gujarat’s master masons. The temple’s main spire is 150 feet high and has a 27 foot tall flag pole at the top. Beautifully designed Jyotirlinga with flowers, silver and gold embellishment is a special attraction of the temple. The temple is visited by millions of devotees every year.

How to Reach

The nearest airport is Keshod which is about 55 km away from Somnath while Veraval is the nearest railway station and is about 7 km away from Somnath. And there are frequent bus services available that makes it easy to reach Somnath.
