Patnitop is a city located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. Patnitop is a very famous hill-station. It is a hilltop tourist location and is situated in Udhampur district of the state. This town is located beside the flowing river Chenab.

The name of Patnitop means Patan Da Talab which literally means “Pond of the Princess”. There is a story behind the name and that is that in olden times there used to be a pond that was present in the paddocks and the kings of this state had a princess who often used to have a bath in this place. In this temple you will get to see a huge Shiva Lingam and this Shiva Lingam is made of natural black marble. Thousands of devotees visit this temple take a dip in the natural spring near this temple called Pap Nashni Bawlias this spring is believed to wash off all the sins who so ever take a dip in it.
