Palakkad is a large town located in the state of Kerala in India. Palakkad lies near a wide low gap or passes in the Western Ghats mountain ranges which divide the state Kerala from Tamil Nadu.   • You can visit the Palakkad Fort which was built in 1766, built by Hyder Ali father of Tipu Sultan of Mysore. There is a large ground between the Fort and the Palakkad Town hall, known as Kota Maidanam is seen in the fort. The ground was used as a stable for the elephants and horses of Tipu Sultan’s army, but now used to play cricket matches, exhibitions, and public meetings. You can also see a children’s park on one side of the Fort and Palakkad Special Sub Jail is also settled inside the jail.
  • Other places in Palakkad like Malampuzha can be visited as this place is considered as one of the interesting places of the town. Here you can visit a beautiful Garden, a Snake Parkside on the Ropeway visit the Aquarium to see the various marine species, a beautiful deer Park, Loknayak J.P.SmrithiVanam and many others.
  • You can also visit the Mayilladumpara where you can see Cholanoor Peacock Sanctuary, Meenvallam waterfalls, Attappady Ghats, Kanhirapuzha Dam, Mangalam Dam, Pothundy Dam, Chulliar Dam, Siruvani, Seetharkundu waterfalls, Meenkara Dam and many other places.
