Khajuraho is a small town located in the Chhatarpur district of the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is also an important tourist destination of the country known for its highly intricately carved erotic temples. The temples are known for their Hindu and Jain origin and also for the beautiful backdrop with high mountains which makes this city an important destination among travelers from all over the world.

  • You will definitely come at this place to see the temples that were made in 950-1050 BC by the Channel artists. There are a number of temples such as Lakshmana Temple which is recognized as the oldest of all. It has many sculptures that depict the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar or Shiva with Lakshmi, Vishnu’s ensemble.
  • Moreover you can visit the Kandariya Mahadeo Temple where you can see many sculptures of the Indian art depicting the various ways of living of the Chandela dynasty women. The temples are divided in to three groups such as East, west, and South. The various temples includes in eastern complex are Parsvnath temple, Ghantai Temple, Adinath Temple, Hanuman Temple etc. Among the Southern complex you can see Beejamandal Temple, Dulhadev Temple etc.
  • You can see a great light and show organized in the Western group of temples complex of Khajuraho. This is a fascinating show known as Son-et-Lumiere and speaks out about the life and era of the great Chandela Kings and also shows with evidences from the temples. You can hear the story of these unique temples as the 50-minute show can be seen both in Hindi and in English every evening. The playback voice of the Indian mega star Sri Amitabh Bachchan, can be heard as he narrates the story of Khajuraho in his hypnotic voice.
  • Apart from viewing teh temples of Khajuraho you can also go for several excursions in this place. You can visit the Panna National Park where you can see the huge numbers of Gharials or Aligators. You can also visit the Pandava falls and Raneh Falls where you can have some beautiful natural sightseeing.
