Hosur is a city located in the state of Tamil Nadu in India.   • In Hosur you can visit the Chandira Choodeswarar Temple which is a beautiful and ancient temple located on the top of the hill. This temple was built by the Hoysala Dynasty King, Thirupuvanam Alla Parvatharaj Anthiyazhvar, in the year 1260 AD. The temple was renovated by Azhakiya Perumal Athimoolam. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and Goddess Maragadambal. While you visit this temple you can see various Teerthams like Maragatha Sarovaram, Hanuman Theertham, Vrishabha Theertham, Jambava, Pandava Theertham, and Sivaganga Theertham.
  • You can also visit the Avalapalli Dam which is another tourist destination in Hosur and this dam that holds water from the Kelavarapalli Reservoir. The dam also has small children park with nice and open playing areas. You can also spot various migratory birds near this dam such as Spoonbills and Pelicans.
  • You can also visit the Hogenakkal Falls which is located on Kaveri River. The name ‘Hogenakkal’ is derived from the Smokey Rocks and this dam is also called as the “Grand Canyon of India”.
