Hemkund Sahib is a sacred place for the Sikh Pilgrims located in the state of Uttarakhand in India. Hemkund Sahib is a holy Lake and also a great place for trekking. Basically, Hemkunt Sahib is a Gurudwara, also called as Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, who was a devoted follower of Guru Gobind Singh Ji who was the tenth Guru of the Sikh. This gurudwara is settled on the backdrop of the mighty and stunning Himalayas and this glacial lake is enclosed by seven mountain peaks and each peak bejeweled by a Nishan Sahib on its rock face, which is gleaming with the aura of holiness. As the Hemkund Sahib is located on the high peaks of Himalayas in the winters it becomes is inaccessible the roads get blocked due to snow and you cannot carry on the bounded paths and glaciers. If you visit duringthe summer month you will see the Sikh pilgrims work in huge groups to repair the damage to the path which happens during the winter, and this task is actually a tradition followed by the Sikh devotees which are also called as is called karseva.
