Jammu & Kashmir offers one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. It is a dream of every traveler to visit these valleys. The names of the valleys are:

Nubra Valley:

Nubra Valley is known as the Orchard of Ladakh and was originally called Ldumra which meant the valley of flowers. Yellow and pink roses make Nubra Valley beautiful and attractive. It is situated about 150kms from Leh, It has one of the oldest and the largest monastery in the Nubra Valley Such as Ensa, Samstemling, Diskit and Hunder monastery are famous Buddhist monasteries.It is surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan ranges. The view of the valley is breathtaking. During winter, the whole valley looks like the landscape of the moon and in summer full of greenery.

Dras Valley:

This valley is popularly known as ‘Gateway to Ladakh, the Drass Valley located at 10, 597 ft above sea level. In summers, due to the melting of snow, the volume of the river rises considerably. The short summer season in the Drass Valley begins in May, when the snows begin to melt. It lies approximately 60 km to the west of Kargil, on the road to Srinagar.
Trekking in Drass is quite famous among trekkers. It offers both long as well as short treks to its tourists. One of the popular treks from Drass is the three-day long trek to Suru valley across the sub-range separating the two valleys. This trek takes you on a sightseeing trip to some of the most delightful upland villages. Also on the route of the trek is the Umbala pass (4500 m), offering a spectacular view of beautiful flowers.

Zanskar Valley:

This valley is famous for many monasteries like Stongdey, Suney, Karsha, Phukta and Zongkhul and a paradise for those who are looking for a peace. It is surrounded by the Himalayan and Zanskar ranges. It is situated at an elevation of 13,154 ft. It is located 250kms from Kargil and 480kms from Leh. The Zanskar River freezes in winter and becomes a trek route for avid trekkers. The trek is popularly known as the Chadar Frozen River Trek. White Water Rafting in the Zanskar River and Chadar Frozen (Zanskar) River Trek. The area remains inaccessible for some months in the year. As winter approaches all the high passes get close and the river freeze on the surface.  

Markha Valley:

Markha Valley is a home of old castles and forts. The panoramic views of monasteries and remote villages are breathtaking. It is one of the most famous treks of Ladakh Region. While trekking on through these trek tourists passes through beautiful Buddhist Monasteries, Mountain Villages, High altitude pastures of Nimaling and High altitude peak Kang Yatse. Here you can see many green fields and willow trees and has barren mountains in the backdrop.
