Dainkund is the highest peak in Dalhousie. It is situated at an altitude of 2755 meters provides an excellent view of the whole valley. It provides the superb setting for the entire valley. Trekking is the most common path to get to the top and is an unreliable experience, with great views and fresh or cool mountain air. The sweet sound of the calm or a pleasing breeze blowing through the trees makes a musical serenade makes Dainkund famously known as the singing hill. An Air Force base in India in peak Dainkund and turn left from there is the Pholani Devi Temple which is the major attraction here.

Panchpula

Panchpula is a nice picnic spot in Dalhousie, the word Panchpula means five bridges. It is the place where a descending stream pours into and feeds several pools. A monument or a Samadhi has been built where several streams meet at Panchpula in the memory of Sardar Ajit Singh, who was a great revolutionary. In addition, there is a restaurant along with several tea shops dotted around Panchpula.

Kalatop, a hilltop dedicated to Lord Shiva, boasts of a grand view of the Pir Panjal Range. The hilltop falls in the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, whose altitude varies between 1,460-2,750 m. The sanctuary was notified in the 1970s to protect what was once a gaming reserve of the Chamba royals. Most of the park’s steep terrain consists of dense coniferous and oak forest with the upper reaches rich in deodars. The wildlife here includes bear, leopard and the shy ghoral. Kalatop is an open forest, which means that the animals move in and out of it depending on the season.

Satdhara Falls, located on the way to Panchpula is one of the most popular sightseeing attractions of Dalhousie. Perched at an altitude of 2036 m above sea level, the place has derived its name from the seven beautiful springs. Satdhara is a wonderful place, which is filled with scenic beauty, serene ambiance and very pleasant weather.

Subhash Baoli

Subhash Baoli is located at a distance of 1 Km from Dalhousie. It is known by the name Subhash Chandra Bose, the famous freedom fighter had Spent much time in this zone in 1937. Bara Pathar

Bara Pathar, 4 km from Dalhousie, there is a small but famous temple of Bhulwani Mata which is also known as Bara Pathar Temple. This temple is situated amidst a thick forest in the village. It is a good place to take a break while trekking towards Kalatope where trekkers/ tourists can experience the scent of cool breeze during the hot summer days.

Rang Mahal, founded by Raja Umed Singh is located in Surara Mohalla. This palace was once the abode of a division of the ruling reign. Tourists can see a perfect blend of British and Mughal style architecture in this palace. Dating back to 18th century, the walls of this palace are gnarled with fine exemplars of Punjab hill style wall paintings. These paintings portray the life of Lord Krishna, which are the major attractions of this palace.
