One of the oldest temple in Pondicherry located at MG Road. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is date back to 600 AD. According to the legend the temple is built for the Idol of Rama, Sita and Lakshman and Hanuman.

This temple is also known as Easwaran Koil dedicated to Hindu God Lord Shiva. Once the temple was demolished by the French troops in 1748, later with the help of public contributions this temple was reconstruct again in 1788. According to the legend the present Idol is to be migrated from the Eswaran Street to this temple during the year of 19 century. Now the temple was managed by Sri Vedapureeswarar Sri Varadaraja Perumal Devasthanam under the Department of Hindu religious institutions and Waqf of the Government of Puducherry.

It is also located in MG Road, Pondicherry and is dedicated to Goddess Shakti. The unique structure of this temple has a blend of both Tamil and French style. However the inner ceiling is designed in the traditional style of the Tamil architecture. Devoties from all over the country visit here to offers prayer to Idol of this temple.
