Located in the heart of Shimla. It is one of the most tourist hot spot and the oldest centers of cultural in the country. This complex was a five-story building with a theater, ballroom, armory, police office, bar, and galleries. The most popular attraction in this complex is the Victorian theater where legends like Rudyard Kipling, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Baten Powel, K. L. Sehgal and others have performed.

Gurudwara Sahib

It is one of the oldest religious monuments of Shimla. It is not so big but it is visited by many for its unique architecture. The color of the Gurudwara is yellow and it has a sprawling lawn in front of the Gurudwara. The Construction of this Gurudwara is very similar to the Goa Churches and it still carries the past cultural glory.

The State Museum is a collection of magnificent paintings, sculptures, coins, handicrafts, photos, etc. It is a major attraction of the mall area of Shimla built in the style of the colonial structure with sprawling lawns all around. The museum holds the sculptural merit of the 8th century stone works of Masrur and Bajaura. Also a wide layout of Himachali dolls is displayed here.

The Vice Regal Lodge

Previously the residence of British Viceroy Lord duffer in, Viceregal Lodge is a Gothic architecture building on the Observatory Hill. Now converted to Institute of Advanced Studies, this magnificent six story building was built in 1888. It has boasting garden and lawns as well.

The Gorton Castle

The castle is one of the best monument of British eras. The architecture of this castle is a perfect combination of the English style combined with the Indian style. It is currently being used as the office of the Accountant General. The castle is basically constructed using special “sanjoli stones” and then surrounded by blocks of timbers.
