Ernakulam city is a major commercial hub of the state and the highest revenue elastic district and is also known as the commercial capital of Kerala. It is the third most populous district in Kerala, after Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram most of the national and international and tourists stay in this city.   • In Ernakulam you can start off with the Chottanikkara Temple which is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. This temple is a great symbol of the ancient wooden sculptures which were known as the Vishwakarma Sthapathis. The reigning deity of his temple is Bhagwati and this Goddess is worshiped in three different forms such as Saraswati, Lakhsmi and Durga.
  • You can also visit the Hill Palace which was built by the Maharaja of Kochi in the year 1865 and this palace has been converted in to a museum. You can see the grand architecture of this palace which consists of 49 buildings in the complex constructed in traditional designs. The building complex has a heritage museum,an archaeological museum, a pre-historic park,a deer park, and children’s park too. After converting this palace into a museum this place houses some of the unique and rare collection of the articles of the Cochin royal family including Crown and ornaments along with beautiful paintings, coins, weapons,inscriptions sculptures made  in stone and marble and various other things.
  • You can also visit the Ernakulam Shiva Temple, named also as Ernakulathappan Temple is one of the most visited temples of Kerala, located in heart of Ernakulam city. This temple is constructed with typical Kerala style architecture and people visit in huge flocks at the time of various festivals in this temple. During thee festivals you can see classical Kathakali dances, bhajans and music concerts.
  • You can also visit the Sree Poornathrayesa temple located in Kochi and was known as the capital of Kingdom of Cochin previously. The temple is considered among the greatest temples of the state. The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu and it is believed that the couples who are childless visit and pray in this temple to get a child
