Chittoor is a popular city in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. This place is very near to the city of the famous Tirupati Temple and Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple. It is settled on the banks of Ponnai River and sandwiched between its own state Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and due to this reason you can see a mixture of the culture of the both the states in this city. Chittor is already famous for being the home of the very popular Shiva Temple in Srikalahasti which is praised in the entire South India.   • In Chittoor you get to see many temples which are strictly belonged to Hindu Religion and some of the famous temples are Subramanya Swamy Temple on Hill,Ponniamma Gudi Durgamma Gudi, at Greamspet, Vinayaka temple, Ram Nagar colony and Hanuman Temple near ponniyamman Temple Street and many others.
  • You can also visit a place called Nagari which is settled on the banks of River Kusasthali and this is a semi-industrialized city. This is a place which is ideal as a picnic spot and you will find very beautiful natural surrounding all around as this area is covered with mountains all around and people mostly who love mountaineering visit this place in huge numbers.
  • You can visit Kalavgunta which is a place famous for its beautiful temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. And most importantly not to forget the Tirupati Temple which is counted among the ancient temples of Chittoor. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and believed to be built in the 12th Century. This temple is constructed with a combination of Pandya, Pallava and Chola architectures.
  • You can visit the Kuandinya Wildlife Sanctuary which is quite a far away from Chittor and this place is covered with bamboo, ficus, and other thorn forests. You can also find some of the wild species out here such as jackals, elephants, hares and may others.
  • Do not miss the Pulicat Lake which has a rich variety of flora and fauna. People mostly visit here for fishing and bird watching as you can spot huge flocks of migratory birds near this lake.
