Chiplun is a city in the state of Maharashtra in India. This city is popular for being located in the middle of Mumbai-Goa highway, and this is the reason hundreds of people who are visiting Goa and Mumbai often visit this place also. Chiplun is also known as the home of Lord Parashurama-an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.   • In Chiplun you can visit the Koyna Dam which is one of the largest dams in the state and this dam is located in Koyna Nagar. His dam is settled in the Western Ghats and between Chiplun and Karad. This dam is the key source of water in the western part of Maharashtra and also provides hydroelectric power and this dam is liable for the backwaters of Shivsagar Lake.
  • If you want to explore the rich history of Maharashtra then you can visit the Walavalkar Shivaji Museum as in this museum you can see the entire collection of objects that was associated with the life of Shivaji Maharaj is displayed here. This is a great place and a must visit in Chiplun.
  • People who want to explore nature; beauties then also they can find their ideal place in Chiplun as they can visit the Nehru Smriti Udyan and this place is famous for its sweet water fishes. From this garden you can have a magnificent view of Koyna Dam.
  • If you want to spend more time in the natural beauty of Chiplun then do not forget to visit the Vashisthi River as this place is ideal for boating and other sports. This place is best for picnic and you can also have fun as there are crocodiles can be seen on this river sometimes.
  • Among various ancient temples in Chiplun you can visit the Parashurama Temple dedicated to Lord Parashurama an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.The architecture of the temple is a blend of both the Hindu & Muslim styles. The Parshuram Temple is enclosed by stone walls and you can see three idols inside the temple. This temple was built 300 years back by Brahmendra Swami.
  • You can also visit the Marleshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and this temple is settled inside the caves.
