Chilika Lake is a famous salt water lake and a major tourist destination located in the state of Odisha in India. This lake is spread over the three districts of Puri, Khurda, and Ganjam of the state. Chilika Lake is the largest ground for most of the migratory birds on the Indian sub-continent. You can also see a good number of endangered species of plants and animals in this lake.The lake is an ecosystem with large fishery resources and also known as the largest coastal lagoon in the country and the second largest lagoon in the World. Birds from all over the world gather here during the winter months and they usually come from the Central and Southeast Asia, Aral Sea, Caspian Sea, and other remote parts of Russia. You can also see marine seaweeds,sea grasses, Micro algae,fishes, and crabs are also seen in this lake.
