Chikhaldara is a hills station located in the state of Maharashtra in India. Chikhaldara is a popular tourist destination among the people of Maharashtra as well as from all of the country because it is a place where you can have a bountiful presence of natural beauty with a rich fauna. The beauty of Chikhaldara enhances with the coffee gardens and various botanical gardens. This place is also closely connected with the ancient era of the Mahabharata as it is said that Bheema killed the demon Keechaka in this place and there is also a pond present where he washed off his hands too known as Bheema Kund.   • Chikhaldara is a place where you can see natural abundance and there are several places from where you can have a great view of the golden sunrise. You can visit the Hariken Point from where you can have a great view of Mozari village, Vairat Hills and Gawaligad Fort from this place.
  • Chikhaldara is a place where you can have a great experience watching the rich wildlife of the state and you can visit the Gugamal National Park where you can spot tiger, panther, leopard cheetah, wild bearsloth bear, python, four horned antelope, and fishing cat.
  • You can also make a visit to the Chikhaldra wildlife Sanctuary as this place look more beautiful with its natural beauty as this place is surrounded by lakes, rich wildlife, and waterfalls. You can spot wild boar, panther,wild dog, sambar, tiger and sloth bear in this sanctuary.
  • You cannot miss the Melghat Tiger Sanctuary where you can see a good number of tigers along with Melghat Tiger Reserve are situated on the southern side-shoot of the famous Satpura Hill Range. It has been recorded that this Tiger Reserve has 82 tigers along with other wild species such as nilgai, mouse deer, wild boar, wild dog, flying squirrel, chital, python jackal, porcupine and many other animals.
  • Among beautiful forts you can visit the Gawaligadh Fort and the Narnala Fort which have their distinctive beauty which is worth mentioning. Narnala Fort is one of the largest forts in the Satpura Hill ranges and was built by the Gond Rulers. Gawaligadh Fort is noted for its beautiful sculptures and this fort was built in the 12th century.
