Adalaj is an Ancient Step well located in the village of Adalaj and it is built by Queen Rudabai in the year 1499. This stepwell is built for relaxation for pilgrims and caravans in the earlier years. Since direct sunlight does not reach the depths of the step well, the temperature under the stepwell is possibly six degrees cooler than the outside. An unusual feature of this stepwell is that out of the many stepwells in Gujarat, this is the only one with three entrance stairs.
