Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi

Rashtrapati Bhavan is one of the most iconic building of Delhi and is the official residential place of President of India. British architect Edwin Landseer Lutyens was the architect of the building. The most conspicuous and recognizing part of Rashtrapati Bhavan is its arch which is superimposed on its structure. It is visible from a distance and the most eye-catching round roof with a circular base in the heart of Delhi.

Inside Rashtrapati Bhavan

This majestic building is built in both Indian and British style of architecture sprawling over an area of 320 acres.The primary building is composed around a huge square with different yards and open internal areas inside. The center of the primary wing of the building, underneath the principle vault, is the Durbar Hall, which was regarded as the Throne Room throughout British reign when it had thrones for the Viceroy and Vicereine .

The Mughal Gardens located behind the Rashtrapati Bhavan increases the beauty of this majestic monument, laid out in both Mughal and English arranging styles and characteristic an endless mixture of flowers. The Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens are open to public in February every year.

Rashtrapati Bhavan Timings and Fees

Timings of the visit are from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs. The visiting days of Rashtrapati Bhavan and Mughal Gardens are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rashtrapati Bhavan is not open for visitors from Monday to Thursday and on Govt. Gazetted holidays. Indian Citizens are required to carry valid photo ID cards. Registration charges of Rs. 25/- per visitor and visitors below the age of 12 years will be exempted from the registration charges.
