Paigah Tombs

Paigah Tombs also called as Maqhbara Shums Ul Umra are basically the tombs known for it beautiful architecture and carvings enhanced in stucco work, and represent the Moghal,Greek,Persian, Asaf Jahi, Rajasthani and Deccani style of architecture. The tombs belongs to the Paigah or the Shums ul Umrahi family built in 1787 by Nawab Taig Jung Bahadur.

Paigah Tombs showcases the beautiful craftsmanship and carvings enclosed in pierced marble facades and are some fo the finest illustrations of Indo-Islamic architecture, merging both features of the Asaf jah and Rajputani style of architecture. Each of the Pagiah noble’s tomb characteristic something unique and diverse style of carvings. All of these are housed by walls that are intricately designed by a wealth of lattice work and exotic designs. Paigah Tombs are located in Santoshnagar at a distance of 10 km from Charminar.
