Kumbhalgarh Fort

Kumbhalgarh is a huge fortress built in the 15th century located in the state of Rajasthan in India. This fort was built by Rana Kumbha and known to be one of the best constructions of the history of the Rajputs. This fort is located on the Aravalli Hills and has distinct seven fortified gateways. You can see over 360 temples inside the fort, among which 300 are ancient Jain and the rest 60 belong to the Hindus.Kumbhalgarh is also famous for its Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary which is again a great place for the wildlife lovers.

Why visit Kumbhalgarh?

 

  • In this place you can start your journey with the Kumbhalgarh Fort which is built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century and located on the banks of Banas River. The palace is located at the top of the rock face, and this place is called as Badal Mahal. This Badal Mahal is a double-storied building alienated into two connected separate portions that divide into the Zanana and the Mardana Maha.
  • In the walls of these two mahals you can see elaborated and stunning oil paintings. The Zanana Mahal is decorated with stone jalis which simplified the queens to keep their privacy yet see the proceedings and other events going on in the court. In this fort there is also a Shiva Temple can be seen which is located close to the fortress. In this temple, you can see the six foot high stone Shiva Lingam which is the only deity and this temple is delicately maintained and worshiped by the local peoples.
  • You can then plan to visit the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary which is a place to see rich fauna. In this sanctuary, you can see many rare species of wild mammals. In this sanctuary, you can see many wild creatures like Wolf, Leopards, Sambhar, Chausingha, or (the four horned antelope) Hyena, jackal, Sloth bear, and Jungle cat, Nilgai, Chinkara, and Hare. In Kumbhalgarh wildlife Sanctuary you can spot a huge number of wolves and you can see more than forty wolves in number. During the summers, you can view these wolves wandering near the water areas to drink.
  • If you a bird lover and love them watching and flying here and there then in this park you can watch them in good flocks. In the park, you can see Grey Jungle Fowl, Bulbul, Red Spur Owls Peacocks Dove, and Doves Golden Oriole also gain attention by their own charm. Among these birds like, Parakeets, Grey Pigeons, and White Breasted Kingfisher are commonly seen in this sanctuary.
