A planned walled city of Fatehpur Sikri is famous for its architecture marvel of royal palaces, harem, courts, a mosque, private quarters and other building. Most of the monuments are built with red stone in this city. Important and famous monuments in Fatehpur Sikri are Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Ibadat Khana, Panch Mahal and Birbal House.

Sikandra Fort is a red sandstone fort famously called as Tomb of Akbar the Great. Located at 10 km from Agra city center, this tomb is built by Akbar himself around 1600 AD but completed by his son Jahangir in 1613 AD. This red stone fort and tomb is known for best Mughal architecture and intricate marble work.

Famous by the name of ‘Baby Taj’, Tomb of Itmad-Ud Daula is a Mughal mausoleum built in 1628 with red stone and marble. This tomb was constructed by Nur Jahan for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. Itmad-Ud Daula complex also have cenotaphs of relatives of Nur Jahan.
