Assam is one of the north-eastern states of India. It is also counted as one of the seven sister’s state. It is bordered by other northeastern states and located on the banks of River Brahmaputra and Barak and on the foothills of the KarbiAnglong and the North Cachar Hills. This state also shares its borders with the neighboring countries of Bhutan and Bangladesh. Assam is known for its extensive tea plantations, rich flora and fauna and Assam silk. The entire state will be seen in dense forests of Sal trees. The valleys are also covered with a lush green blanket and the huge and long Brahmaputra is flowing by its side making it more gorgeous and serene. Assam is also known for its ancient and sacred Hindu Temples which are visited by thousands of pilgrims every year located at various cities of the state. Assam was ruled by three dynasties Varmanas during c.350–650 CE Mlechchha dynasty during .655–900 CE and Kamarupa-Palas during 900–1100 CE from their respective capitals and that is why in this state you can see lots of ancient structures dominating the land with the beauty and history.
